Life Update (It’s been a while)

  • I had my 2nd round interview today! Remember how I posted about taking that test for an administrative clerk job? I passed the test, and had an interview with HR last week, and today I had an interview with the actual department heads. I think it went really well.. I’m still kind of unsure if this is the right move for me, but I figure if the doors keep opening, I’ll keep walking through them…
  • But, I just don’t know if this is the right time for me to be switching jobs. We’re trying to start a family, and save money and don’t know where we want to live when our lease is up in January..
  • And part of this job search feels uneasy, and this sounds weird to me, but I’ll just say it… I want to be a stay at home mom. This is something I’ve wanted for a while, but haven’t really talked about it until recently. Part of me feels guilty for wanting this, because I feel like it would put a lot of pressure on Paul. But, really, when I think about having kids, and I think about my parents both working, and me not being able to participate in a lot of activities because it would need parental involvement.. Other parents always took me to volleyball games, I wasn’t allowed to do baseball, or 4H, or girl scouts… and while I appreciate all the sacrifices my parents made for us kids, I just want to do it a different way.
  • Sooo…I’ve been looking at Elance.com and bidding on jobs, to try to build up a freelance portfolio.
  • I also signed up for a bookkeeping certification program.
  • And, on Saturday, we bought a new laptop! Both of ours are terribly outdated, and both Paul and I have been using our phones for most everything for the past year!
  • Anyway, that’s what’s been on my mind and heart lately… not sure where I’m going with this, but, had to get it out.

I’m all for females deciding to embrace their bodies but I’m NOT for females “embracing” their bodies by shaming others.

"I believe that introversion is my greatest strength. I have such a strong inner life that I’m never bored and only occasionally lonely. No matter what mayhem is happening around me, I know I can always turn inward."

Susan Cain (via onlinecounsellingcollege)

It’s true I am never bored.

You are allowed to grieve the years you lost to mental illness. You’re allowed to be mad that it happened to you. You’re allowed to pine after the person you might have been had it been different. But don’t let that get in the way of your growing into your new self and following a wholly new path for your life.
